Bixé is a collaborative space merging the art of story and textile, meaning espíritu/spirit in Istmo Zapoteco. Juchitán and Puerto Rico natives together in Oaxaca our interviews and collections are guided by a search for alternative narratives on the way we live and connect.

The Journal is supported by our collection of textiles woven to bring the spirit of a series to your home. Designed in our Oaxaca studio every piece is handwoven on family looms by artisans in the valley of Teotitlán. Made with 100% sheep's wool, plant dyed, handmade to order.

The designs we and our collaborators create are handcrafted to life by (left to right) Veronica Martínez, Juana Vásquez, Andrés Bautista, Jesús Bautista. Their home and studio are based in Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca.
